# Mite: triaged in-app bug reports for React Native and Expo

Mite is in-app feedback and release notes for React Native and Expo apps.
Collect bug reports with full device context and feature requests from inside
your app, and every report is triaged as it arrives into a category, one of the
feature areas you named, a suggested priority, and a match against your open
reports. Release notes go out from the same place. Built for developers who do
not want a monitoring suite.

## Setup to first bug report

1. Create your app and generate an API key. One project per app. Keys are scoped to it, rotatable, and safe to ship in a client build.
2. Install the SDK and wrap your root layout. One provider, one prop. No native config and no custom dev client, so it runs in Expo Go.
3. Reports arrive sorted, with the context attached. Device, OS, build number, and a screenshot come with the report. Mite adds a category, one of the feature areas you saved, a suggested priority, and a likely duplicate if it finds one.
4. Publish the release note from the report. The reporter sees their bug closed, everyone else sees the changelog on next launch.

## Questions

### What does triage do to a report?

As a report arrives, Mite asks one model a fixed set of questions about it: whether it is actionable, whether it is spam, whether it is reproducible, which category it belongs to, how severe it is, how frustrated the reporter sounds, which of the feature areas you saved it touches, and which of your 25 newest open reports it duplicates. Each answer carries a confidence, and the report page shows it for category and severity.

### Does triage change my reports on its own?

It sets priority, and only when the severity answer carries 0.85 confidence or higher and you have not set a priority yourself. The rest are suggestions you act on. When it finds a likely duplicate it shows a hint with a Mark as duplicate button, spam and non-actionable bugs move behind a toggle on the bugs list, and nothing is closed. You can re-run triage on any bug report.

### Is Mite a full crash analytics platform?

No. Mite collects in-app feedback and publishes release notes for React Native and Expo apps. It records what a user chose to report, not what the runtime did, so pair it with Sentry or Bugsnag if you need crash capture too.
